The UNL Institute of Ag and Natural Resources Agricultural Research Division recently welcomed the Research Center Administrator’s Society (RCAS) to Nebraska on September 8-11, 2024, for an event which showcased some of the innovative research projects and state-of-the-art facilities spread throughout the Cornhusker state. RCAS is a national non-profit organization whose membership is comprised of agricultural research station managers, directors as well as university, college, and USDA administrators. The society’s mission is to advance the acquisition and dissemination of scientific knowledge concerning the nature, use, improvement, and interrelationships of research center administration, scientific research, and new technology. There were 80 participants from 20 institutions across the country throughout the week.

The meetings and tours were a tremendous opportunity for attendees to gain first-hand insight into the University of Nebraska – Lincoln’s research and extension programs as well as to expand the network of administrators and faculty working at research and extension centers nationwide. Participants visited Nebraska Innovation Campus, the Eastern Nebraska Research Extension and Education Center (ENREEC), West Central Research Extension and Education Center (WCREEC), Raising Nebraska and local businesses such as LI-COR, Corteva Agriscience, and the Golden Spike.
The University of Nebraska was pleased to host this event and to showcase all that Nebraska has to offer. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Nebraska Corn Board, Nebraska Soybean Board, and the Nebraska Wheat Board.
